A baby nest is a soft bedding set that turns a plain cot into a padded, settled space for a newborn. Ours is a 5 piece set priced at Rs 7,500. It includes a four sided bumper, a cot sheet, a filled pillow and two neck rolls. Cash on delivery is available nationwide.

What is in the 5 piece set?

Every design in this category ships with the same five pieces:

• One four sided bumper with filling, which lines all four walls of the cot
• One cot sheet, 40 by 60 inches
• One baby pillow, 10 by 16 inches, with filling
• Two neck rolls, 14 inches each, with filling

The bumper is the main piece. It softens the hard rails and sides of a wooden or iron cot so the baby does not knock against them. The cot sheet covers the mattress. The pillow and rolls keep the baby settled and propped while you are sitting with them.

Will it fit my cot?

The sheet measures 40 by 60 inches, so it suits a standard baby cot of that size or slightly smaller. Measure the inside of your cot base before you order. If your cot is larger or an odd size, message us on WhatsApp at 0324 492 4274 with the measurement and we will tell you honestly whether it will fit. The bumper ties on with fabric strings. Pull every tie firm before the baby goes in, and keep the loose ends short.

What age is it for?

Newborn up to the point where your baby starts moving on their own. That is often around four to six months, but the age on the calendar is not the signal. Watch the baby, not the date. Take the bumper, pillow and neck rolls out of the cot as soon as your baby can roll over, push up on hands and knees, or pull themselves toward the cot rail. From that point they can press against the padding or use it to climb. When your child moves into a bigger bed, our kids bed sheets are the next step.

How to use it safely

We will be straight with you here, because it matters more than a sale. Padded bumpers and pillows belong to the hours when you are awake and in the room. They are not part of a safe sleep setup. For night sleep and unwatched naps, the guidance from child health authorities is settled: a baby should be on their back, on a firm and flat mattress, with nothing soft near their head. Padding around the face carries a suffocation risk, and long ties carry an entanglement risk. So use the set the way it works best. Keep the bumper on while you are sitting with the baby. Lift the pillow and neck rolls out before they sleep unwatched, leaving only the cot sheet on the mattress. That way you get the padding and the look without the risk.

Heat, and why it matters here

From May to September a room in Lahore or Karachi heats up fast when load shedding stops the fan. Padding holds warmth around a baby, and overheating is a real risk. Check the back of the neck. If it feels hot or damp, take the padding out and cool the room. Dress the baby in one light layer, not two. In winter, a light AC blanket tucked no higher than the chest is safer than heavy quilting.

Washing and care

Machine wash the set at 40 to 60 degrees, on its own and not with other laundry. Knot the bumper strings before washing so they do not tangle in the drum. Tumble dry on low heat, or dry in shade so the colours hold. Wash the cot sheet weekly and the bumper monthly, or straight away after a leak. A waterproof mattress protector under the sheet saves the mattress and means you strip the whole cot less often. If a pillow or roll loses its shape over time, you can top it up with our cushion and pillow filling.

Designs and colours

All designs are priced the same. Neutral prints suit any nursery and are the safer pick when you are buying as a gift and have not seen the room. Our Grey White Stars design and Planet design work for a boy or a girl. The Heart design and Yellow Rabbit design use warmer tones. Can my baby sleep in it at night?

Use the padded pieces while you are awake and in the room. For night sleep, take out the pillow, rolls and bumper and lay the baby on their back on the firm flat mattress with the cot sheet on it.

What is the difference between this and a baby cot set?

Both dress a cot. They are separate ranges with different designs. Browse both and choose the look you prefer.

When should I remove the bumper?

As soon as your baby can roll over, push up on hands and knees, or reach the cot rail.
