Goes inside a pillow cover. Ours are 19 x 29 inches, because that is the size of every pillow cover we sell.

Duvet filling

The thick insert you sleep under. It goes inside a duvet cover or a quilt cover. Most homes in Lahore just call it the razai. If you want the filling and the cloth already stitched into one piece, you want a comforter set. For a light layer with no insert at all, see blankets and throws or our AC blankets.

Which insert fits which cover

This is where most orders go wrong, and no other site in Pakistan sets it out. Read this before you buy. Our pillow covers are 19 x 29 inches, in every set across the site, so our bed pillows are made at 19 x 29. Some sellers here stock 18 x 28 pillows. Those leave a loose inch and a half inside our covers and sit crooked. Our cushion covers are 16 x 16 inches. Buy an insert one to two inches bigger, so an 18 inch insert at around 450 to 550 grams. An insert of the same 16 inches leaves the corners hollow and the cushion sags on the sofa. Some of our quilt cover sets carry 18 x 18 inch cushions, and those take the same 18 inch insert. Duvet filling is the one to check hardest. Our king quilt covers are 90 x 95 inches. The comforters in our comforter sets are 98 x 102 inches. A lot of duvet filling sold in Pakistan is 95 x 100 inches, which will not close inside a 90 x 95 cover and swims inside a 98 x 102 one. Match the insert to your cover, not to the word king. Where a label shows centimetres: 48 x 76 cm is 19 x 30 inches, 46 x 46 cm is 18 inches square, and 242 x 254 cm is 95 x 100 inches.

Fill weight in grams

Grams decide whether a pillow holds its shape or goes flat inside a month. Almost no listing in Pakistan prints it. Ours do. The working standard for a bed pillow here is 1000 to 1100 grams of ball fibre at 19 x 29 inches. A square cushion insert runs about 300 grams at 16 inches and 450 to 550 grams at 18 inches. A neck roll sits around 320 grams. A floor cushion needs close to 2000 grams.

What is inside them

Almost every insert sold in Pakistan uses hollow siliconized ball fibre. It is polyester spun into small clusters that move against each other, so the insert springs back instead of packing down. It washes in a machine and does not hold dust the way loose cotton does. Microfibre feels denser and holds shape a little longer, but dries slower after washing. Duck feather and down sit in another price bracket. A feather pillow here passes Rs 11,000 and a feather and down blend passes Rs 24,000, against roughly Rs 1,100 to Rs 3,100 for fibre. Feather also takes in moisture. Through a Lahore monsoon week or a Karachi summer it needs airing in sunlight or it starts to smell. Fibre is the sensible buy for most homes here.

Soft, medium or firm

Choose by how you sleep, not by how it feels in your hand. Side sleepers need the thickest pillow. Your shoulder holds your head away from the mattress and that gap has to be filled, or the neck bends all night. The Sleep Foundation notes that side sleepers generally need a thicker pillow to fill the space between head and shoulder, that back sleepers need less height but still enough to keep the head raised, and that stomach sleepers are usually most comfortable on a thin one. A firmer mattress needs a fuller pillow, because the body sinks less and the gap is wider.

Duvet filling for our weather

Two numbers appear on labels here and nobody explains either one. GSM is how many grams of filling sit in each square metre. Light summer inserts run around 180 GSM. Mid weight sits near 220. Winter inserts reach 500 GSM and above. TOG measures how well the insert holds heat. Around 4 to 7 TOG covers most of our year. For a Lahore or Islamabad January, closer to 9 or 10. In Karachi you rarely need the heavy one. If your AC runs through summer, a mid weight insert works better than a blanket.

Why it arrives flat

Fibre inserts ship vacuum pressed so they fit a courier bag. Yours will come out of the packet thin and squashed. That is normal and it is not a fault. Shake it out hard, lay it flat, leave it 24 to 48 hours. It returns to full thickness. If it has not lofted after two days, message us and we replace it.

Made to export weight

We manufacture. We are not a reseller. We ship bedding and toweling by the container to buyers in the US, UK, Dubai, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Canada, and an export order fails inspection if the fill weight moves between units. Every piece is weighed. The same standard runs on what we sell at home, including our hotel bed sheets and hospital bedding, where pillows are washed far harder than in a house. What it costs

Cushion inserts in Pakistan run roughly Rs 1,100 for a pair up to Rs 3,100 for six. Bed pillows start near Rs 1,100 each, with multipacks bringing the unit price down. Duvet filling starts around Rs 8,000. One caution when you compare. Several sites here show every insert at half price or less all year, one at close to 70 percent off with no end date. A sale that never finishes is not a sale. Compare what you actually pay.

Washing and replacing

Fibre inserts go in the machine on cold water, gentle cycle. Wash pillows two at a time so the drum stays balanced. Dry in shade rather than on the roof in June sun, and make sure the inside is fully dry before use or it holds a damp smell. Feather needs airing rather than frequent washing. A fibre pillow lasts about eighteen months to two years of nightly use. Fold it in half and let go. If it stays folded, the fibre has broken down and it is time to replace it.

The rest of the bed

Under the sheet, a waterproof mattress protector keeps the mattress clean. Pillow covers come with our bed sheets and bedspreads. Cushion inserts finish our sofa covers. For a child's room see kids bed sheets, and for a nursery our cot bedding sets and baby nests.

Delivery and replacement

We deliver nationwide, usually in two to six days depending on your city, with cash on delivery. You have seven days to request a replacement under our return and exchange policy. You can track your order once it ships, or contact us to check a size before ordering. Our office is at Office No 40, Street No 6, Bhogiwal Road, Lahore. We are an online store, so there is no counter to visit. Orders come through the site, by phone or on WhatsApp. Buyers who normally pick up loose fibre from Azam Cloth Market or Shah Alam Market can press it by hand there, but they cannot check the weight, and there is nobody to go back to when it flattens.

The thickest one. Side sleeping leaves the widest gap between head and mattress, so a thin pillow bends the neck.

Is feather filling good for Pakistan?

It absorbs moisture, so it needs regular airing in humid cities. Fibre is easier to live with here and costs far less.

Why did my pillow arrive flat?
