What we make

Bedding is the largest part of what we do, and it splits by how the room is used. For everyday rooms there are plain sets and printed designs, along with fitted sheets for anyone tired of tucking corners in every morning. Children’s rooms have their own kids range, and for a room that gets looked at we make embroidered and bridal sets.

Seasons matter here more than most places. Winter brings out the velvet bedding, comforter sets, blankets and the fillings that go inside a duvet or a cushion. If you prefer to change the cover rather than the whole set, there are duvet covers, quilt covers and bedspreads. A waterproof mattress protector sits under all of it and saves the mattress underneath.

Which fabric suits your bed

Most sellers name one fabric and stop. We carry four, and none is right for every room.

Cotton breathes. Air moves through the weave, carrying body heat away instead of holding it, which is what you want from April through September when Lahore nights stay warm long after dark.

Cotton satin is cotton woven differently. The threads float across the surface instead of crossing at every point, so the face is smoother, carries a light sheen and shows creases less.

Jeans is heavier and tighter woven. It takes hard daily use and holds its colour.

Velvet has a raised pile that traps warm air at the surface. Wrong in June, right in January.

Some ranges are blended with polyester to cut creasing and cost. Where that is true, the listing says so. We would rather tell you than let you find out after a wash.

What thread count actually tells you

You will see 300, 600 and 1000 quoted across this market, and most are worth less than they look. Thread count is how many threads are woven into a square inch, and the catch is in the counting. Under the ASTM standard used across the textile trade, each yarn counts as one thread even when spun from two or three finer strands twisted together.

Not everyone follows it. Twist two thin threads into one yarn, count each strand separately, and a 300 becomes a 600 on the label without one extra thread going into the cloth. In a 2005 letter to the National Textile Association, the US Federal Trade Commission agreed shoppers could be deceived by inflated counts.

Ordinary cotton sheeting sits near 150, good quality starts around 180, and above 200 is percale. Beyond 400, be careful, because a genuine single yarn weave cannot climb much higher without the cloth turning stiff.

So check the fabric, ask whether the yarn is single or two ply, and judge the weight in your hand. A heavier cloth at 200 will outlast a thin one claiming 800.

Sizes, and why they differ between sellers

There is no fixed bedding size standard in Pakistan, and this catches more people than anything else. Across three sellers a double can be 94 by 98 inches at one, 96 by 102 at another, and a king 95 by 99 somewhere else. Same word, different cloth.

Measure your mattress before ordering. Take the width and length in inches, then add about 20 inches to each so the cloth tucks under on all four sides, and more again if the mattress is deep. For a fitted sheet, depth matters more than width, so measure how thick it is with any topper already on.

Multani, jeans and panel: the local names explained

These come up in every bedding shop here and almost nobody explains them. Multani is the block printed style associated with Multan, built from repeated hand drawn motifs in deep colours.

Panel means the design sits as one large central section rather than repeating across the whole sheet. It reads more like a picture than a print.

Jeans, as above, names the weave rather than the colour, which is why a jeans bed sheet is not always a blue one.

Bedding for hotels, hostels and hospitals

A guest house or a hostel is not buying on print. It is buying on how many wash cycles the cloth survives, whether the white stays white, and whether the same size arrives again next year. There is no fixed standard, which is why sizes differ between sellers. Common doubles run from about 94 by 98 inches to 96 by 102 inches. Measure your mattress and add roughly 20 inches to the width and length so the cloth tucks under.

Are your sheets 100% cotton?

Our cotton and cotton satin ranges are cotton. Some ranges are blended with polyester to reduce creasing and cost, and velvet is a different cloth altogether. Each listing states what it is made of.

Is a higher thread count better?

Not always. Counts above 400 are usually reached by counting each strand of a twisted yarn separately, which adds a number to the label without adding cloth. Ask about the fabric and the ply instead.

Which fabric is best for a Lahore summer?

Cotton. It breathes, so it moves heat away from the body instead of holding it. Velvet is the winter choice and jeans sits in between.

How many pillow covers come with a set?
